Bacoor City, Philippines – The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) recently organized a high-level meeting to discuss the progress of the LRT Line 1 Cavite Extension Project. The event, held at the Revilla Multi-Purpose Hall on March 13, 2024, brought together key stakeholders from the Bacoor LGU and the transportation sectors.
The primary purpose of the meeting was to provide project updates on the LRT Line 1 Cavite Extension. This extension aims to connect the existing LRT Line 1 from Baclaran to Bacoor City, providing a more efficient and convenient transportation option for residents. The project is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and improve connectivity in the area.
They highlight the status of right-of-way (ROW) activities within Bacoor City. Right-of-way acquisition is a critical aspect of the project, as it involves acquiring the necessary land and properties for the construction of the LRT extension. The meeting aimed to address any challenges or issues related to ROW activities and find solutions to ensure the smooth progress of the project.
During the meeting, participants engaged in fruitful discussions and exchanged valuable insights. Mayor Strike B. Revilla expressed his commitment to the project and emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Bacoor LGU and the DOTr to ensure its successful implementation. Atty. Timothy John Batan, representing the DOTr, highlighted the significance of the LRT Line 1 Cavite Extension in improving transportation infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for Bacoor residents.
As the meeting concluded, all participants re-affirm their dedication to the project and their willingness to work together to overcome any obstacles that may arise. The DOTr and the Bacoor LGU will continue to collaborate closely to ensure the timely and efficient completion of the LRT Line 1 Cavite Extension Project.
Among the attendees were Mayor Strike B. Revilla, Atty. Aimee Torrefranca-Neri from City Administrator and HUDRD, Atty. Kim Lofranco from the City Legal Office, Engr. Jicky Jutba from the City Engineering Office, and Konsehala Karen Sarino Evaristo. Representing the DOTr were officials led by Undersecretary Atty. Timothy John Batan, along with a representative from the LRTA.
