BACOOR CITY, PHILIPPINES – The Bacoor City Youth Development Council and the SBR-KKK Members held a consultation meeting last October 7, 2023, at the Strike Multi Purpose Hall. These organizations convened to discuss important topics concerning youth development and community engagement. This meeting was graced by the representatives from the Philippine Transmarine Carrier RISE Program, which offers free training for youth organizations in disaster response.
Among the primary topics on the agenda were preparations for the PPAs 2024, the forthcoming mandatory training for newly elected SK Officials, and curfew operations. The council also discussed plans to register youth-serving and citywide youth organizations with the National Youth Commission (NYC) Youth Organization Registration Program (YORP).
Presided over by Local Youth Development Officer Angie Cariaso, the meeting brought together several youth and community organizations from Bacoor City, including the SK Federation, Aves Community Based Organization Inc., LGBT Pilipinas – Bacoor Chapter, Laging Kaakibat Youth Movement (LKYM), and Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines – Bacoor, among others.
Key members from Bacoor’s SBR-KKK fraternity organizations such as Alpha Kappa Rho – Bacoor City Council, United Skeptron Council, Tau Gamma Phi – Bacoor City Council, and other fraternity councils also participated in the consultation meeting.
This broad representation underscores the commitment of Bacoor City’s leaders and organizations to fostering a collaborative community that empowers its youth and ensures their active participation in the city’s development initiatives.
During the meeting, fruitful discussions took place, resulting in several notable outcomes. One significant outcome was the decision by the SBR-KKK members to volunteer and actively assist in the enforcement of the curfew ordinance.
