The City of Bacoor marked Elderly Filipino Week with a series of community events organized by the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), led by Atty. Venus De Castro. The celebration saw the participation of Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista Mendiola, Councilor Simplicio Dominquez, Chair of the Committee on Senior Citizens, and representatives from the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) and the Office of the City Health Services.
The event aimed to honor the contributions of senior citizens to the community and promote their well-being. Activities included health checkups, recreational programs, and a special luncheon for senior citizens. A highlight of the celebration was the distribution of rice to Bacoor’s senior citizens.
“Our elderly are the heart and soul of our community, and we are committed to ensuring their well-being and recognizing their invaluable contributions,” said Atty. De Castro. Vice Mayor Mendiola echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of providing support and opportunities for senior citizens. “We want to ensure that our elderly feel valued and supported, and that their wisdom and experience are essential for the growth and development of our city,” she stated. The celebration was met with positive feedback from the senior citizens of Bacoor, who expressed their gratitude for the recognition and support.
