It’s full speed ahead for the annual celebration of Nutrition Month. This year’s campaign focuses on the promotion of food security among families with the theme “Ugaliing Magtanim, Sapat na Nutrisyon Aanihin.”
These are some of the activities for the month-long celebration: distribution of seeds and seedlings to feeding mothers of the top 20 barangays with high prevalence of undernourished children, Day Care Garden Contest, Nutrition Costume Contest, and the training of parent leaders and mother beneficiaries with underweight children about urban gardening.

At the Calabarzon regional nutrition month launch at the Antipolo Provincial Capitol, Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Carina Santiago shared important points to be raised during the campaign while Engineer Pocholo Raymundo gave a demonstration of urban gardening techniques.

In the City of Bacoor, tarps aimed at increasing awareness of food security were posted in different parts of the city including Zapote Market, Talaba 4 intersection, Tabing Dagat, Mabolo 1, Panapaan 5, and Molino 3. This was spearheaded by the Bacoor City Nutrition Council headed by Mayor Lani Mercado Revilla, Vice Mayor Karen S. Evaristo, and SP Members, and was initiated by the CSWD Office headed by Liliane Ugalde in cooperation with City Agriculture Office, Public Information Office, City Engineering Office and other Council Members in coordination with Barangay Nutrition Council Representatives.
