Two suspects arrested for illegal gambling in Bacoor City
Bacoor City, Cavite – On August 21, 2024 at about 8:30 PM, anti-illegal gambling operation conducted by Bacoor Component City Police Station resulted in the arrest of two individuals involved in illegal gambling activities in Barangay Zapote III, Bacoor City, Cavite.
The suspects, identified as alias “Cesar,” an unemployed resident, and alias “Erol,” a helper, were apprehended by the Station Special and Operations Unit (SSOU) of Bacoor CCPS.
According to initial investigations, the SSOU team, under the direct supervision of PLTCOL JOHN PAOLO V CARRACEDO, COP of Bacoor Component City Police Station, conducted an anti-illegal gambling operation in the area. The operation led to the arrest of the two suspects.
Confiscated from the suspects were three peso coins used as “Pangara,” a local gambling tool, and bet money amounting to Php 390.00 in various denominations.
The suspects are now temporarily detained at the Bacoor Custodial Center for proper disposition and documentation. Cases for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which penalizes illegal gambling activities, have been filed against the suspects before the Bacoor City Prosecutor’s Office.
The Bacoor City Police continues to intensify its efforts in curbing illegal gambling in the area, reminding the public of the serious consequences of engaging in such activities.
