The Presidential Proclamation No. 1180 declares July of each year as “National Anti-Trafficking in Persons Awareness Month. It aims to increase awareness and foster social consciousness especially among vulnerable communities, regarding human trafficking. It aligns with the Philippines observance of the Worlds Day against Trafficking (WDAT) every 30th, July as a signatory to the United Nations Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime and its Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, particularly women and children.
