Bacoor City – October 4, 2024 – The Bacoor Public Employment Service Office (PESO) hosted a seminar on Anti-Trafficking in Persons (TIP), Anti-Illegal Recruitment, and Trafficking in Persons at the Bulwagan ng Liga Ng Barangay. The event aimed to raise awareness and educate residents on these critical issues.
Notable attendees included Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista Mendiola, Cong. Lani Mercado Revilla, Agimat Partylist Representative Bryan Revilla, Dr. Abraham Domingo De Castro (Head of Bacoor PESO-OFW Help Desk), Mr. Christian Gawaran (BPLO Head), Ms. Angie Cariaso (LYDO Head), and Ms. Guia Javier Oller (President of BHOACI).

Geraldine Mendez, Director 4 of the Migrant Workers Protection Bureau (DMW), delivered opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of combating TIP and illegal recruitment. Atty. Kristina Andal, DMW Spokesperson, conducted the seminar proper, providing information on the legal framework, risks, and preventive measures related to these issues.
The seminar highlighted the crucial role of community awareness and vigilance in combating TIP and illegal recruitment. Participants learned about various forms of exploitation, the legal consequences for perpetrators, and the support available for victims.
