Bacoor City, February 20, 2025 – Mayor Strike B. Revilla today met with representatives from fraternities, student councils, and student governments from various colleges within Bacoor City to discuss initiatives aimed at promoting safety, preventing bullying, and fostering a more resilient community. The meeting, organized by the City Government of Bacoor’s Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) headed by Ms. Angie Carriaso, was held at the 5th floor of the Resilient Building.
The meeting brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including Mayor Strike B. Revilla, Councilor Alde Pagulayan, LnB Vice President Randy Francisco, SK Federation President Palm Buncio, Police Captain Porferio Simon of the PNP Bacoor, Ms. Gina Pornelos and Cristy Castillo from the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD), Dr. Philip Cordova Cuizon, Psychology Department Dean of the School of Arts, Sciences and Education (St. Dominic College of Asia), and members of the Board of Directors at large of the Psychological Association of the Philippines Calabarzon Mimaropa Chapter. Participants included members of the SBR-KKK (Fraternities and Gangs), Student Council representatives from STI Perpetual Molino Bacoor, and representatives from DepEd Bacoor.
The meeting focused on the proposal and symposium for “Strike Patrollers,” a program aimed at promoting safety and security within the city. The participants also discussed the “Strike as 1 Paaralan – Kontra Krimen at Karahasan” initiative, which emphasizes the importance of creating a united front against crime and violence in schools. The meeting also addressed the establishment of “Safe, Bullying Free, and Resilient (SBR)” environments in schools and the implementation of the Public School Ordinance of the City of Bacoor.
The meeting was a positive step towards fostering collaboration and dialogue between the city government, educational institutions, and youth organizations in Bacoor. By working together, these stakeholders can create a safer, more supportive, and more resilient environment for all students and residents of Bacoor City.
