The City Government of Bacoor is proud to announce its participation in the “RISE Program for Safe Schools – Master Trainer Program,” which took place on May 29, 2024, at the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta – Molino Campus. This significant event was organized by the PTC RISE Program in collaboration with UPHSD – Molino, aiming to enhance disaster resilience and preparedness in our educational institutions and communities.
On behalf of Mayor Strike B. Revilla, Ms. Angie Cariaso, Head of the Bacoor Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), represented the City Government and delivered a short and inspirational message. The highlights of her message focused on three critical aspects:
S – Sustainability
Strengthening our efforts to protect and safeguard the environment is crucial. This commitment enables our community to develop a greater capacity to endure, adapt, and evolve positively when faced with the impacts of climate change, disasters, and other disruptions.
B- Build
Disasters can have severe impacts on both human resources and infrastructural establishments. It is essential to make every section of the community aware of their roles and responsibilities during disastrous situations by providing them with proper training and tools. By doing so, we are building a more disaster-resilient society.
R – Role
Individuals play a vital role in reducing the impact of disasters, as they are often the most vulnerable and experience the greatest impacts. Not only are they the first to be affected, but they are also the first responders. Therefore, efforts to support and encourage their involvement in disaster preparedness and response are essential.
The UPHSD – Molino and the RISE Program have always been integral partners and stakeholders in DRRM programs, youth-related initiatives, and other community-based activities. Their continued collaboration and support are invaluable in creating safe, resilient, and prepared communities.
We look forward to more collaborative efforts with UPHSD – Molino and other stakeholders to further enhance disaster resilience and preparedness in our communities.
