Quezon City, February 11, 2025 – Mayor Strike B. Revilla of Bacoor City met with Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar and Undersecretary Avelino Tolentino III, along with other DHSUD officials, to discuss housing assistance for fire victims in Bacoor and explore broader collaboration on housing projects.
The meeting, organized by the City Government of Bacoor through the Housing Urban Development and Resettlement Department (HUDRD) headed by City Administrator Atty. Aimee Torrefranca-Neri, focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration between the City Government and DHSUD to provide immediate and long-term housing solutions for affected families.
Mayor Strike B. Revilla personally appealed for assistance from the DHSUD’s Emergency Shelter Support (ESS) program under the Integrated Disaster Shelter Assistant Program (IDSAP) to provide financial aid to fire victims. He also presented the City Government’s housing plans for Bacooreños and discussed how DHSUD and the Bacoor LGU can work together to expedite these projects.
The meeting also addressed issues related to Homeowners Associations (HOA) and explored ways for DHSUD and the City Government of Bacoor, through HUDRD, to collaborate in strengthening HOA management and governance.
The meeting signifies the City Government’s commitment to providing comprehensive support to its constituents, particularly those affected by disasters. This collaboration with DHSUD is expected to significantly contribute to the City’s efforts in providing safe and affordable housing for all Bacooreños.
