In an effort to raise awareness about dengue prevention, the Philippine Pediatric Society, Southern Tagalog Hospital’s Department of Pediatrics, in collaboration with the City Government of Bacoor led by Mayor Strike B. Revilla and the City Health Office under the supervision of Dra. Ivy Marie Yrastorza, organized an event titled “Dengue Awareness Month: Maging Alisto, Mag-5S para No Mosquito.”
The event aimed to educate 115 residents of Brgy. Habay 2 and the Brgy. Habay Council on Dengue Fever and environmental prevention strategies, including fogging and larva monitoring. The highlights of the program emphasized the “Mag-5S para sa Mosquito” approach: Search and Destroy, Self-Protect, Seek Consultation, Support fogging in Outbreak Areas, and Sustain Hydration.
Activities included an awarding ceremony for the poster-making contest winner and the distribution of certificates. The event took place yesterday, June 28, 2024, at the Habay 2 Covered Court, promoting community engagement and proactive measures against dengue.
