Bacoor City, Cavite – The City Government of Bacoor, in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), held a significant event last September 9, 2024, at the Revilla Hall. The event marked a crucial step in strengthening security and fostering peace in the city, with the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Bacoor LGU and Task Force Ugnay 21D Philippine Army.
The event was attended by key officials, including Mayor Strike B. Revilla, Vice Mayor Rowena B. Mendiola, Board Member President Rafael Paterno III, and the City Council members: Councilors Alexander Gutierrez, Karen S. Evaristo, Levy Tela, Bok Nolasco, and Rey Palabrica. SK President Palm Angel Buncio, and Mr. Reginaldo Revilla, CLGOO, DILG Bacoor, were also present. Engr. Danilo A. Nobleza, Provincial Director, DILG Cavite, and PCol. Eleuterio M. Ricardo Jr., Provincial Director, Cavite PPO, represented their respective agencies. PLtCol. John Paulo V. Carracedo, Chief of Police, Bacoor, and Col. Ronald Jess S. Alcudia, Commander, Task Force Ugnay, Philippine Army, were also instrumental in the signing ceremony.
The signing of the MOU signifies a strong collaboration between the Bacoor LGU and Task Force Ugnay, aimed at strengthening security measures and fostering a peaceful community. The event also saw the declaration of Bacoor City as a “Stable Internal Peace and Security” (SIPS) area, a testament to the city’s commitment to maintaining order and safety for its residents.
The event also included the awarding and turnover of the 2024 Local Committees on Anti-Trafficking and Violence against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) Functionality Assessment. Bacoor City received a rating of 95%, achieving a “Highly Functional” status for its efforts in combating trafficking and violence against women and children. The event concluded with the turnover and acceptance of the Certificate of Completion for the “Construction of Drainage at Molino 6, City of Bacoor” project. The project, funded by the 2022-SGLG incentive fund, is a significant step towards improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for Bacoor residents. The event was attended by Barangay Chairpersons of Bacoor, their respective SK Chairpersons, and various department and unit heads, showcasing the city’s commitment to a collaborative approach towards peace, security, and development.
