Bacoor City, January 30, 2025 – The City Government of Bacoor, in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), held an inter-agency meeting today to solidify plans for the implementation of the “TARA, BASA!” tutoring program. The meeting, held at the City Government of Bacoor’s Legislative and Disaster Resilience Building (MSBR Conference Room), was attended by key officials and representatives from various organizations.
From the City Government of Bacoor, the attendees included Mayor Strike B. Revilla, Kuya Noly Galvez, Pastor Mike Bautista, Ex Kap Udoy Brillantes, Mr. Jerry Reyes (CSWD Representative), and Ms. Jols Dalaraya (from the Office of Cong. Lani Mercado Revilla). Cavite State University was represented by Ms. Jay Anne F. Salles. The DSWD Central Office was represented by Ms. Laarni Reintegrado (Division Chief), Ms. Dona Cortez (PDO Regional Focal for the TARA, BASA! TUTORING PROGRAM), Mr. Vince Villaruel (Regional Executive Assistant IV-A), and other DSWD personnel.
The meeting focused on collaboratively planning and implementing the “TARA, BASA!” tutoring program, which aims to improve the literacy skills of children in Bacoor City. The program will leverage the expertise and resources of both the City Government and DSWD, ensuring a comprehensive and effective approach to addressing literacy challenges.
The “TARA, BASA!” tutoring program signifies a commitment from both the City Government of Bacoor and DSWD to empower children and equip them with the necessary skills to succeed in their education. This collaborative effort aims to provide children in Bacoor with the opportunity to reach their full potential and contribute to a brighter future for the city.
