A total of 510 tutors and YDWs, primarily 2nd to 4th year college students from Cavite State University, received their cash incentives for their dedicated service. These tutors taught for 20 days, from May 19 to June 13, 2025, across 31 schools in Bacoor City.
The payout ceremony took place at the Strike Gymnasium, with Mr. Jerry Reyes, the CSWD personnel assigned to lead the Tara, Basa! program, facilitating the event. Mayor Strike B. Revilla was present to personally acknowledge and thank the tutors and youth workers for their valuable contribution to the education of Bacoor’s youth.
Mayor Strike also expressed his gratitude to Secretary Rex Gatchalian of the DSWD for his support and partnership with the Bacoor LGU, which made the successful implementation of this project possible. The “Tara, Basa!” tutoring program aims to support both the educational needs of students and provide livelihood opportunities for young tutors, demonstrating the city’s commitment to community development and youth empowerment.
