Bacoor City, July 29, 2025 — The City Government of Bacoor held a thanksgiving Mass at the Bacoor Government Center Lobby to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the Barangay Merging, following the successful plebiscite that took place on July 29, 2023. Bacoor is only the second city in the Philippines to implement this initiative, reducing the number of barangays from 73 to 47 by merging smaller barangays with limited funds.
Mayor Strike B. Revilla, Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista Mendiola, Sangguniang Panglungsod members including BM Alde Pagulayan, department and unit heads led by City Administrator Atty. Aimee Torrefrangca-Neri, and Liga ng Barangay Vice President Randy Francisco led the event. City employees and Bacooreños also participated in the Mass.
The barangay merging aims to improve service delivery by consolidating resources and funds, enabling the newly formed barangays to better serve their constituents. The anniversary Mass served as a moment of gratitude and reflection on the progress made since the merger.
