May 22, 2024 — The Office of the Population and Development, headed by Ms. Emilie De Castro, successfully organized a Family Planning Outreach Mission on Progestin Sub-dermal Implant, in partnership with the Office of the City Health Services, FriendlyCare Foundation Inc., USAID’s ReachHealth Project, and the Commission on Population and Development Wellness Clinic Team.
The event, held from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, specifically targeted Women of Reproductive Age (WRA). The mission aimed to raise awareness about modern family planning methods, with a particular focus on the Progestin-Only Sub-dermal Implant (PSI).
With over 60 women choosing to receive the Progestin-Only Sub-dermal Implant and being educated on its benefits and effectiveness, the program sought to empower them with greater control over their reproductive health.
The initiative not only highlighted the importance of accessible family planning options but also demonstrated the community’s readiness to embrace modern contraceptive methods.
This is part of an on-going effort by the City Government of Bacoor, through Mayor Strike B. Revilla, to promote reproductive health and well-being in the community, reflecting a collaborative approach to enhancing public health services.
