Bacoor City, Cavite – On January 13, 2024, at exactly 7:00 AM, COMELEC and Bacoor PNP hosted a major event aimed at promoting Secured, Accurate, Free, and Fair Elections (SAFE) for the upcoming Midterm National and Local Elections (MNLE) scheduled for May 12, 2025.
The event, led by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Bacoor under Atty. Jastine Marie B. Dela Cruz, Election Officer IV, and the Bacoor Component City Police Station under the leadership of PLTCOL JOHN PAOLO V CARRACEDO, Chief of Police, conducted a Unity Walk, Inter-Faith Rally, and Peace Covenant Signing.
The program opened with an invocation delivered by Rev. Pastor Mike Bautista of the Bacoor City Transformation Office. He was joined by religious leaders Bishop Erik Santos of the Eastern Catholic Church, Rev. Pastor Sam C. Baldon of BCTO, and Imam Yusoph Hassan Pundag of Islam, fostering a spirit of unity and collaboration among different religious organizations.
Following the invocation, PMAJ Alexis S. Tuazon, Deputy Chief of Police, administered the Oath of Non-Partisanship, emphasizing the commitment of police officers to remain impartial, maintain peace and order, and uphold the integrity of the electoral process.
Atty. Dela Cruz then led the “Panata para sa Malinis, Marangal, at may Dignidad na Kampanya sa Halalan 2025” and the Integrity Pledge. During these pledges, political candidates committed to conducting peaceful and credible campaigns and rejecting any form of violence. In her speech, Atty. Dela Cruz stressed the importance of the event for candidates, supporters, voters, and the general public, emphasizing its role in fostering trust and transparency in the electoral process.
The program continued with a Unity Walk from Robinsons Main Square Mall to BGC in Brgy. Bayanan, symbolizing a collective commitment to SAFE elections. The event culminated with the release of doves, signifying peace and harmony, witnessed by political candidates, COMELEC officials, PNP personnel, DepEd Bacoor, NGOs, and various stakeholders.
The activity concluded successfully at around 8:00 AM, marking a crucial step in Bacoor City’s efforts to promote orderly and credible elections.
