Pursuant to Sangguniang Panlalawigan Resolution No. 3210-2024, declaring the Province of Cavite under a State of Calamity due to the widespread adverse impact of the Southwest Monsoon enhanced by Typhoon “Carina”, the Department of Trade and Industry Cavite (DTI-Cavite) informs all consumers and retailers that based on Section 6 of RA 7581 or the Price Act, prices of basic necessities in an area declared under state of calamity shall automatically be frozen at their prevailing prices or placed under automatic price control. Section 6 also stipulates that unless sooner lifted by the President, automatic price control on necessities shall remain effective for the duration of the condition that brought it about, but not more than 60 days.
In this regard, please be guided accordingly of the prevailing prices/price ceilings in grocery stores, supermarkets and wet markets in the Province.
