The most awaited construction of the seven-storey City of Bacoor Legislative and Disaster Resilience Building in Bacoor Government Center, Province of Cavite, has been completed.
The blessing and inauguration of the newly constructed building happened on April 13, 2023, which was headed by Bacoor City Mayor Strike B. Revilla, and through the effort of Congresswoman Lani Mercado – Revilla during her term.
As Congresswoman Lani celebrates her birthday yesterday, she mentioned that this project was started during the pandemic with the assistance of BDRRMO Department Head, Richard Quion, as this project is one of her dreams for the city. “We are the catch basin of the province, tayo po ang sumasalo ng tubig baha. At baha ang lagi nating problema sa ating Lungsod ng Bacoor at hindi lang yun, marami sunog na ang ating naranasan noong panahon ng Covid.” she said. “Ito ay alay natin sa mamayang Bacooreño, we want to be prepared, we want to be resilient, we want to help the national government and the provincial government in times of crisis.” she added.
“Another milestone in our history as a local government and proud Bacooreños’, Strike Revilla said. Mayor Strike was also thankful for the love and hardships of the birthday celebrant Cong. Lani Mercado – Revilla. “This building is a testament….ng commitment ni Ate Lani sa pagmamahal niya sa Bacoor na gusto niya maging safe, disaster resilient ang ating lungsod.” he added.
Other than that, this building is not only for Disaster Resilience but this building was also built for the City of Bacoor legislative to have their officials sessions and other official matters headed by City Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista Mendiola.
This event was attended by the Senator of the Republic of the Philippines, Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., Assistant Majority Leader in the House of Representatives, Cong. Bryan Revilla, Department of National Defense, ASEC. Hernando Caraig Jr., Department of Social Welfare and Development, ASEC. Diana Rose S. Cajipe, DILG Regional Director, Ariel O. Iglesia, Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista – Mendiola, Department/Unit Heads, NGO presidents, and other officials and employees of the City Government of Bacoor.
