Last November 16, 2024, in preparation for the potential impacts of Tropical Storm “Pepito” (international name: “Man-yi”), the Bacoor Component City Police Station, under the leadership of PLTCOL JOHN PAOLO V CARRACEDO, Chief of Police, conducted a preemptive evacuation in coordination with the Bacoor Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (BDRRMO), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and barangay officials.
The operation targeted areas identified as highly susceptible to flooding and storm surges. Bacoor CCPS and partner agencies coordinated with barangay officials to ensure the readiness of evacuation centers and the mobilization of local response units. Early announcements were disseminated to residents, particularly in coastal and flood-prone areas, urging them to evacuate as a precautionary measure.
As part of the initiative, the BDRRMO distributed search and rescue equipment to barangays to strengthen their emergency response capabilities.
