The City Government of Bacoor held a vibrant flag-raising ceremony on September 24, 2024, at the Strike Gymnasium, demonstrating the city’s dedication to education, community service, and local talent development. Organized by the Bacoor City Department of Tourist & Cultural Affairs in partnership with Nagkakaisang Ina ng Bacoor, the event brought together a diverse group of participants, including Mayor Strike B. Revilla, Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista Mendiola, Sangguniang Panglungsod Members, Department Heads & Unit Heads led by Atty. Aimee Torrefranca Neri, City Employees, DILG Family, PNL/BFP/BJMP/BTMD personnel, DepEd Bacoor officials, Osca members, PWD representatives, and NGO representatives. The ceremony began with a solemn opening prayer led by Pastora Ana Roxas of the Bacoor City Transformation Office, followed by the entrance of the color guard, comprised of PNP Bacoor personnel, adding a sense of ceremony and patriotism. The Bayanan Elementary School Choir delivered a moving rendition of the Philippine National Anthem, inspiring a sense of national pride among the attendees. The Nagkakaisang Ina ng Bacoor, a cultural group, provided an entertaining intermission number, showcasing the city’s rich artistic heritage.
A key highlight of the event was the recognition of academic achievements. Gerard Andrei Barcenas Deinla received recognition for Outstanding Academic Excellence for his Master’s degree in Technology Management from the University of the Philippines. Several other students were honored for their Latin Honors, including Ernest Eize P. Mercado (Cum Laude) from the National College of Science & Technology, Patricia Ann Torrijos (Magna Cum Laude) from UP Diliman, Maria Trisha Bernadette K. Quijano (Summa Cum Laude) from De La Salle University, Pauline E. Ramos (Magna Cum Laude) and Pearl E. Ramos (Magna Cum Laude), both from Cavite State University – Bacoor.
The PNP Bacoor also presented Certificates of Recognition to nine officers for their exemplary service: PSMS Ronald D. Eguia, PCpl Danny John Cantonjos, PCpl Jerry Apura, PCMS Rodofredo R. Unadia, PSSg John Ranen Trinidad, PSSg Ricci M. Galolo, Pat Ramon Louie Cadlaoh, Pat Levin Sinafad, and Pat Behts C. Neri. Barangay Mambog 1 received a Certificate of Drug-Cleared Barangay, and Certificates of Appreciation for Tanod Olympics were awarded to Barangay Salinas 2 and Barangay Mambog 3.
The ceremony also celebrated the success of Bacoor’s karate athletes who competed in the 1st ISKF Hongkong/ Macao International Open Karate Championship held on August 25, 2024. Ramon Angelo R. Nepumuceno (Cavite School of Life Bacoor), Rein Lynard Rodriguez (St. Peregrine Institute Bacoor), Romeo III Rodriguez (St. Matthew Academy Bacoor), and Charles Lyndon R. Secarro (St. Matthew Academy Bacoor) were recognized for their achievements.
Guest Speaker Ms. Elinia Imelda Roselle S. Sangalang, Cavite Provincial Tourism Officer, delivered an inspiring message highlighting the importance of community engagement and the role of tourism in promoting local development. Hon. Rogelio Bok Nolasco, City Councilor – District 2, also gave opening remarks emphasizing the city’s commitment to progress and unity. Mr. Edwin Guinto, head of the Bacoor City Tourism & Cultural Affairs Department, presented an accomplishment report. Cianne Kate Salazar Atienza provided an intermission number.
Mayor Strike B. Revilla delivered a message emphasizing the city’s commitment to education, community service, and the development of local talent. The flag-raising ceremony was a testament to Bacoor City’s dedication to fostering a vibrant and thriving society.
