The City Government of Bacoor, led by Mayor Strike B. Revilla, recently held a grand celebration for the 50th Nutrition Month, culminating in a City Nutrition Awarding Ceremony on July 29, 2024, at the Strike Gymnasium. The event highlighted the city’s commitment to promoting good nutrition and recognizing outstanding individuals and barangays for their contributions to the cause.
The ceremony was graced by esteemed individuals, including Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista Mendiola, Councilor Reynaldo Palabrica, Chair of the Committee on Health and Nutrition, Councilor Simplicio Dominguez, and Ms. Jelenie G. Olaño, RND, Guest Speaker and Nutrition-Dietitian II of DSWD Calabarzon.
The highlight of the event was the awarding of various recognitions, including:
– PABASA sa Nutrisyon Graduates: The program recognized graduates of the PABASA sa Nutrisyon, a nutrition education initiative.
– Nutri-Quiz Bee Winners: Winners from the elementary, high school, community mother, and pregnant woman categories were awarded for their knowledge and understanding of nutrition.
– Best in Nutri-Costume: Participants showcased their creativity and knowledge of nutrition through their unique and informative costumes.
– Food Fair Winners: The event featured a food fair where participants showcased their culinary skills and creativity in preparing healthy and nutritious dishes.
– City Nutrition Council Members & Stakeholder Awards: Recognizing the dedication and contributions of individuals and organizations towards promoting nutrition in the city.
– City Outstanding BNS Awards: Recognizing the outstanding performance of Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) in promoting nutrition programs within their respective barangays.
– Outstanding Barangay Awards: The ceremony recognized barangays for their exceptional performance in implementing nutrition programs and initiatives.
