With the support of DOLE Cavite, Bacoor City Jail – Male Dormitory is opening doors for 146 pre-release PDLs, equipping them for a fresh start through meaningful work and reintegration.
As part of its ongoing aftercare and reintegration efforts, the Bacoor City Jail Male Dormitory, in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Cavite Provincial Office, explored available support programs for persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) nearing release. Among these programs is the DOLE Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program, which offers employment assistance to support their transition back into society.
Last July 9, 2025, under the leadership of JSUPT CHRISTOPHER R PENILLA, City Jail Warden, and through the efforts of JO1 Emily C Castro, Aftercare Program Officer and JO1 Yvette C Melgar, Livelihood Officer, an orientation on the TUPAD Program was conducted for 146 pre-release PDLs. The session aimed to equip them with knowledge about available government support that can aid in their reintegration and reduce the likelihood of reoffending.
These initiatives are crucial in providing hope and opportunity to returning citizens, empowering them to rebuild their lives and become productive members of society.
