The Philippine Registry of Heritage (PRH), also known as Talapamana ng Pilipinas, has recognized several Local Government Units (LGUs) for their exceptional commitment in maintaining their local cultural inventories, as reflected in the Registry’s records.
Since its institutionalization in 2017 through NCCA Board Resolution No. 2017-330, the Registry has consistently received annual submissions and updates of the Local Cultural Inventory (LCI) from 10 LGUs over the past five years.
Notably, in 2021, the province of La Union achieved the highest submission rate in the Registry’s history, with 17 out of 21 LGUs submitting their cultural inventories. Additionally, only two provinces have attained a 100% submission rate: Bataan, with 13 out of 13 LGUs in 2022, and Sarangani, with 9 out of 9 LGUs in 2023.
According to DILG-NCCA-JMC 2021-001, the “Amended Guidelines on the Standardized Submission of Local Cultural Inventory under the Philippine Registry of Cultural Property for the Issuance of Certificate of Compliance to Local Government Units,” not all LCIs are immediately included in the Registry. However, there has been an observed increase in overall compliance rates, with the following LGUs being the most compliant in their respective submission years:
In 2021, the Province of La Union had 11 out of 21 LGUs; in 2022, the Province of Davao Oriental had 9 out of 12 LGUs; and in 2023, the Province of Cavite had 21 out of 24 LGUs, while the Province of Nueva Vizcaya had 14 out of 16 LGUs.
