We appeal to motorists to cooperate as we start the conduct of COMELEC Checkpoint and assured them that “plain view doctrine” would be observed.
Motorists need only to lower windows and turn on the lights inside their vehicles when passing through the checkpoints.
Only a visual search is allowed at the checkpoint and motorists are not required to open their glove compartments, trunks, and bags. Individuals who violate the gun ban will be arrested by authorities.
