Bacoor City, June 25, 2025 – Bacoor City celebrated Arbor Day 2025 with a significant mangrove planting initiative, reinforcing its commitment to environmental preservation. Under the leadership of Mayor Strike B. Revilla and Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista Mendiola, the City Government, through the City Environment Service Department (CESD) led by Mr. Rolando Vocalan and Office of the Agriculture Services led by Mr. Allan Chua, organized a large-scale mangrove planting and cleanup at the Dulong Pulo Mangrove Area in Barangay Sinbanali.
The event, held under the motto “Berdeng Baybayin: Magtanim ng Bakawan, Proteksyon sa Kinabukasan” (Green Coastline: Plant Mangroves, Protect the Future), drew a diverse group of participants. These included personnel from the Coast Guard, Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) – both male and female dormitories. Other participants were Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) volunteers, CESD staff, students and faculty from Saint Dominic College of Asia (SDCA), representatives from various NGOs and schools, city employees, volunteer organizations, and Barangay Sinbanali officials.
The City Government expressed its gratitude to the Frabelle Group of Companies for their generous donation of mangrove seedlings. The successful planting underscores Bacoor City’s dedication to expanding its protective mangrove forest, a source of local pride and a crucial element of the city’s environmental sustainability efforts.
