Bacoor City – Sixty informal settler families (ISFs) in Bacoor City, affected by both last year’s fire and the LRT Line-1 South (Cavite) Extension (L1CE) project, were successfully relocated to permanent housing on June 9th. This relocation was a collaborative effort between the Bacoor City Government, led by Mayor Strike B. Revilla and Atty. Aimee Torrefrangca Neri of the Housing Urban Development & Resettlement Department (HUDRD), and the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA). Key partners included the Bacoor Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (BDRRMO), the General Trias LGU, the Department of Transportation (DOTr), and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), along with barangay officials, the Bacoor Traffic Management Department (BTMD), and the Bacoor PNP.
The relocated families, also victims of last year’s fire, received new homes, free bus transportation, and truck services for their belongings. This comprehensive relocation initiative reflects Mayor Strike’s commitment to providing adequate and permanent housing solutions for affected residents.
This successful relocation is a significant milestone in the L1CE project, highlighting the strong commitment to community support and inter-agency collaboration.
