City of Bacoor – In a vital initiative aimed at enhancing fire safety awareness, the City Schools Division Office of Bacoor conducted a Fire Safety Awareness Seminar and Fire Drill yesterday, March 28 at the Strike Fire and Rescue Village. This event brought together personnel within the division to equip them with essential fire safety knowledge and preparedness strategies.
Dr. Babylyn M. Pambid, CESO VI and Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Schools Division Superintendent, opened the seminar with an uplifting message. “I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Bacoor for accommodating this crucial activity. Your support plays a significant role in fostering a safer environment for our students and staff,” she stated.
The seminar began with a warm welcome from FSINP Precious V. Petalio, the Acting City Fire Marshal, who emphasized the importance of fire safety education in schools. “Understanding fire safety is not just about following protocols; it’s about ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone in our educational institutions,” Petalio remarked.
The day was filled with engaging presentations and practical demonstrations facilitated by an expert team of BFP Bacoor officers. Among those leading the sessions were FO3 Joseph B. Ponte, FO1 Noel A. Bilgera, FO1 Shane Bundac, FO1 Nissi Jay Tolang, and F/A Felices Pascua. They delivered comprehensive training on fire prevention, emergency response, and the correct use of firefighting equipment.
Participants had the opportunity to learn hands-on skills and best practices for fire evacuation, with additional guidance provided by FO3 Marco Moralina, FO2 Domino Bejosano, FO1 Vincent Verseles, FO1 Jade Allones, and FO1 Jirald Dave Bael. The practical exercises culminated in a fire drill, allowing staff to apply what they learned in a simulated emergency situation.
By incorporating such training into their professional development, school personnel are better equipped to handle emergencies, thereby contributing to a culture of safety within their institutions. This proactive approach reflects the commitment of both the City Schools Division of Bacoor and BFP Bacoor to protect the lives of students and staff alike.
As the day concluded, participants expressed appreciation for the valuable knowledge and skills gained during the seminar, reinforcing the notion that preparedness is key in ensuring a safe educational environment.
