Bacoor City, March 12, 2025 – The Mariano Gomes National High School (MGNHS) – Talaba Extension welcomed its new Supreme Secondary Learners Government (SSLG) officers today, with Mayor Strike B. Revilla officiating the oath-taking ceremony. The event, held at the Office of the Mayor, saw 10 student leaders from Grades 7 to 10 take their oath, committing to serve their school and community.
The ceremony was witnessed by key figures from the school and the Barangay Government of Talaba 3, including Mr. Mark Viñegas, OIC of MGNHS Talaba Extension; Ms. Rowena P. Naval, Head Teacher 1 of MGNHS; Mr. Jon Ivan Patrick H. Allaga, SSLG Adviser of MGNHS Talaba Extension; Ms. Cherry Torres, GPTA Officer; Kapitan Emmanuel T. Trinidad; Kagawad Benigno Y. Abrenica; and Kagawad Percy I. Taniegra.
Following the oath-taking, Mayor Strike B. Revilla addressed the new SSLG officers, outlining his vision for the youth of Bacoor and emphasizing the importance of leadership, community service, and responsible citizenship. He also highlighted the City’s efforts to combat hazing and prevent recruitment of minors into fraternities. The Mayor further discussed plans for sports development, emphasizing the construction of new sports facilities and disaster preparedness programs.
The event marked a significant milestone for the MGNHS Talaba Extension, as the new SSLG officers embark on their journey of leadership and service for the upcoming school year (SY 25-26). Their commitment to the school and community, coupled with the City Government’s support, promises a bright future for the students and the entire Talaba Extension community.
