Bacoor City, January 12, 2025 – This morning, at about 8:00 AM, the Bacoor Component City Police Station led by PLTCOL JOHN PAOLO V CARRACEDO, Chief of Police, in collaboration with various augmenting forces, established a COMELEC Checkpoint at Mabolo Freedom Park along Tirona Highway, Barangay Mabolo, Bacoor City. This proactive initiative was carried out with the support of Philippine Army-Task Force Ugnay, the Bureau of Fire Protection, the Provincial Highway Patrol Team, Barangay Mabolo officials, Bacoor Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (BDRRMO), the Bacoor Traffic Management Division (BTMD), and Force Multipliers.
Atty. Jastine Marie Dela Cruz, Election Officer of Bacoor, was present to oversee the operation. She took the opportunity to remind all personnel of the Do’s and Don’ts in conducting a COMELEC checkpoint, emphasizing that the operation was strictly limited to visual searches in compliance with COMELEC guidelines. She also stressed the importance of maintaining professionalism and efficiency throughout the operation.
At about 9:30 AM, a team from the Police Regional Office 4A, Regional Community Affairs Development Division, led by PMAJ MYLENE A RODRIGUEZ, conducted an onsite inspection of the checkpoint. The purpose of their visit was to evaluate the readiness of the personnel, ensuring that all protocols were being followed and that the checkpoint was fully operational as the election period approached.
Moreover, at about 10:25 AM, PNP officials from Cavite Provincial Police Office, led by PCOL DWIGHT E ALEGRE, Acting Provincial Director, along with Ms. Mitzele Veron Morales Castro, Provincial Election Officer, and PLTCOL WILLY SALAZAR, DPDA, PLTCOL Jerry Corpuz, DPDO, and PLTCOL Samuel Fernandez, U3, conducted a proactive inspection of the checkpoint. This inspection aimed to ensure that all security measures were in place and that the checkpoint was being managed effectively.
As part of its preparations for the kick-off of the COMELEC checkpoint, the Bacoor PNP deployed an LED truck displaying election period infographics to inform the public. Additionally, a Mobile Command Center was established to facilitate operational coordination, and standard COMELEC checkpoint signage was installed to ensure proper visibility and transparency.
The primary objective of the COMELEC Checkpoint is to proactively deter criminal activities, maintain public order, and enhance security during the election period. This initiative plays a critical role in ensuring that Bacoor City remains safe and secure as the election approaches.
