Bacoor City, November 25, 2024 – The City Government of Bacoor, led by Mayor Strike B. Revilla, joined the nation in celebrating the 32nd National Children’s Month with a special event at the Strike Gymnasium. Organized by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD) in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), the event brought together public school students from various levels, city officials, and community leaders.
The celebration focused on the theme “Break the Prevalence, End The Violence: Protecting Children, Creating A Safe Philippines!” The event kicked off with a Doxology performed by students, followed by the entrance of the color guard and the singing of the National Anthem by students from Bacoor National High School (BNHS) – Main. Mr. Joshua Dosano, the City Child Representative, led the recitation of the Panatang Makabata, emphasizing the importance of children’s rights and well-being.
Ms. Lilian De Rosas Ugalde, head of the CSWD, delivered a welcome message, highlighting the City Government’s commitment to protecting children and ensuring their access to quality education. City Councilors and Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista Mendiola also shared inspiring messages, emphasizing the importance of creating a safe and nurturing environment for children. The event featured a special intermission number by the Electro Groovers, World Champions, who energized the crowd with their electrifying performance. Ms. Jessie S. Cruto, Focal Person of the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children, delivered a talk, raising awareness about child protection issues and emphasizing the importance of community involvement.
The highlight of the event was the State of the Children’s Address (SOCA) 2024, delivered by Mayor Strike B. Revilla. Mayor Revilla addressed the challenges faced by children in Bacoor and outlined the City Government’s plans to address these issues and create a brighter future for all children. The event concluded with a raffle draw, providing educational assistance to deserving students. The celebration served as a powerful reminder of the importance of protecting children and ensuring their access to opportunities for a better future.
