Bacoor City, November 11, 2024 – The City Government of Bacoor, led by Mayor Strike B. Revilla, held a flag raising ceremony today at the Strike Gymnasium, highlighting the city’s commitment to child protection and community service.
The event, hosted by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD) led by Ms. Lilian De Roxas Ugalde, was attended by Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista Mendiola, Sangguniang Panglungsod Members, Department Heads and Unit Heads led by Atty. Aimme T. Neri, City Employees, DILG Family, PNL/BFP/BJMP/BTMD, DepEd Bacoor, OSCA Members, PWD representatives, and various NGOs.
The ceremony included a poignant opening prayer by Mr. Jan Jan and Grace, followed by the entrance of the color guard led by Bureau of Fire Personnel. The Philippine National Anthem was performed by the Bacoor Unity Band, setting a patriotic tone for the event.
The ceremony also featured oaths of allegiance, including the “Panunumpa sa Watawat ng Pilipinas” (Oath to the Philippine Flag) by Raki Alcantara, the “Panunumpa ng Lingkod Bayan” (Oath of Public Service) by Niño Castillo, the “Panata sa Bagong Pilipinas” (Pledge to the New Philippines) by Regina Openion, and the “Panatang Makabata” (Children’s Pledge) by Justin Bugarin.
Councilor Reynaldo Palabrica, representing District 2, delivered opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of child protection and the role of the CSWD in safeguarding the well-being of children in Bacoor.
The CSWD presented an accomplishment report through an audio-visual presentation, showcasing their efforts in providing social services to the community. Ms. Ailyne L. Refugido, Social Welfare Officer II of the Protective Services Division at DSWD Region IV-A, served as a resource speaker, leading a discussion on the theme “Break the Prevalence, End the Violence, Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines.”
The event also recognized winners of the recently concluded Association of Day Care Workers in Cavite competition and distributed food packs to Compre beneficiaries.
Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista Mendiola delivered a special message, highlighting the city’s dedication to improving the lives of Bacooreños. She emphasized the various programs and initiatives implemented by the City Government to ensure the welfare and safety of all citizens, particularly children. She also commended the CSWD for their tireless efforts in providing essential services to the community.
The flag raising ceremony served as a powerful reminder of the City Government’s dedication to community service and its unwavering commitment to the welfare of children in Bacoor.
