SYNOPSIS: At 3:00 PM today, Tropical Storm “LEON” {KONG-REY} was estimated based on all available data at 1,010 km East of Central Luzon (16.7 °N, 131.6 °E) with maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h and gustiness of up to 90 km/h. it is moving Westward at 20 km/h. Southwesterly Windflow affecting western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas.
Forecast Weather Conditions:
Catanduanes,will experience Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by Trough of TS Leon Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan will experience Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms caused by Southwesterly Windflow. Possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides due to severe thunderstorms.
Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Condition:
Moderate to Strong from Northeast to Northwest will prevail over Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas. Coastal waters will be Moderate to Rough / (2.5 to 4.0 meters)
Moderate to Strong from Southwest to West will prevail over the rest of Luzon. Coastal waters will be Moderate to Rough / (2.1 to 3.5 meters)
Slight to Moderate from Southwest to West will prevail over Mindanao and the rest of Visayas. Coastal waters will be Moderate to Rough / (1.5 to 3.0 meters)
