`The Department of Education (DepEd) and the City Government of Bacoor, led by Mayor Strike B. Revilla, joined forces to host a grand celebration for National Teacher’s Day today, October 4, 2024, at the Strike Gymnasium.
The event was attended by over 2,800 participants, including Education Program Supervisors, Principals, School Heads, Teachers, and Non-Teaching Personnel. The celebration was also graced by the presence of Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista Mendiola, Cong. Lani Mercado Revilla, Cong. Bryan Revilla of Agimat Partylist, Coun. Alde Joselito F. Pagulayan, Chair of the Education Committee, and City Councilors from Districts 1 and 2.
The ceremony began with a series of national prayers led by Mr. Domingo S. Sonnip Jr., Ms. Cherrylyn H. Dayao, Mr. Teodoro Gioriani, and Mr. Anthony Zeus C. Caringal. Mr. Alexander M. Morron Jr. then recognized the participants.
Dra. Babylyn Pambid, CESO VI, OIC School Division Superintendent, delivered the welcome remarks and introduced the guest speakers. The keynote message was delivered by Ms. Jennifer E. Lopez, Ph.D., CESO IV, Director IV of the National Education Academy of the Philippines, DepEd.
Other distinguished speakers included Dra. Lualhati Cadavedo, Assistant School Division Superintendent, Dr. Cezar Mojica, Chief School Governance and Operation Division, Dra. Editha Gregorio, Chief, Curriculum Implementation Division, Dr. Domingo Sagnip Jr., President of the Bacoor Teachers Association (BCTA), Dra. Cherrylyn Dayao, President of the Bacoor Public Elementary School Head Association (BAPESHA), Dr. Teodoro Gloriani, President of the Bacoor Public Secondary School Heads Association (BAPSSH), and Dr. Anthony Zeus Caringal, President of the National Employees Union (NEU) Bacoor.
The celebration aimed to honor the dedication and hard work of teachers in Bacoor City and to recognize their invaluable contributions to the education of the city’s youth. The event served as a platform to celebrate the achievements of teachers and to inspire them to continue their noble work.
