A event took place last October 2, 2024, at the Strike Gymnasium, as the City of Bacoor hosted its Housing Summit 2024, titled “Breaking the Barriers: Revolutionizing the Housing Industry in the City of Bacoor.” This summit, organized by the Housing Urban Development & Resettlement Department (HUDRD), aimed to empower Bacooreños by providing them with vital information on housing programs and initiatives.
The summit was graced by the presence of the following: Mayor Strike B. Revilla, who addressed the participants via Zoom, Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista Mendiola, Cong. Lani Mercado Revilla, Cong. Bryan Revilla of Agimat Partylist, and Coun. Alde Pagulayan. Ms. Annie Nacianceno of HUDRD delivered the welcome remarks.
The event featured a diverse panel of speakers, including Mr. Joshua Lorenzo R. Layog, OIC Division Chief of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), Ms. Rhowena P. Dineros, Director III of DHSUD, Engr. Emma Monica Anacan, OIC of NHA Cavite, Mr. Alvin Mojica, Cavite Provincial Administrator, Engr. Elsa Juliana DV. Calimlim, OIC-VP Mega Manila Group of the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), Mr. Robert Bonifacio of the Presidential Commission for Urban Poor (PCUP), Ms. Jacqueline Constantino, Department Manager of Pag-ibig Fund, and Atty. Maria Teresa Bandal of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) Bacoor.
The summit provided a platform for Bacooreños to learn about various housing programs, including the 4PH project of President Bong-Bong Marcos Jr., and the efforts of Cong. Lani M. Revilla, Cong. Bryan Revilla, and the Bacoor LGU, under the leadership of Mayor Strike B. Revilla and Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista Mendiola, to address the housing needs of the city’s residents. The summit highlighted the commitment to providing affordable housing solutions for Bacooreños, with plans to construct homes for 2,000 families in the future through four housing projects in Barangays Zapote, Dulong Bayan, Salinas, and Alima.
The summit was attended by representatives from the Bacoor Homeowners Association Council Inc. (BHOACI), Neighborhood and Urban Poor Association, and the Federation of Springville City Homeowners Association Inc. (FOSCHAI). The event served as a catalyst for collaboration and a testament to the city’s dedication to providing a better future for its residents.
