Bacoor City, September 30, 2024 – The City Government of Bacoor, through the Housing Urban Development & Resettlement Department (HUDRD) led by Atty. Aimee Torrefrangco-Neri, in collaboration with the Society of Concerned Women of Bacoor (SCWB), held a meaningful flag raising ceremony at the Strike Gymnasium today.
The event saw a diverse gathering of city officials, including Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista Mendiola and Sangguniang Panglungsod Members, as well as Department Heads, Unit Heads, city employees, DILG representatives, PNP, BFP, BJMP, BTMD, DepEd Bacoor, Osca members, PWDs, and various NGOs.
The ceremony commenced with opening remarks by Hon. Alde Pagulayan, City Councilor for District 2 and Committee Chair on Housing, Land, Utilization, and Urban Development. Mr. Jean Paul Ilao, Regional Director of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Region IV-A, served as the guest speaker.
Highlights of the event included an opening prayer led by Pastor Elmer Palad of the Bacoor City Transformation Office, the entrance of colors performed by PNP Bacoor personnel, and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem by the CAVSU Bacoor Choir. Intermission numbers featured performances by CSWD, the Bacoor HOPE Children’s Chorus led by Dra. Tina Alberto, a solo performance by Mr. Miguel Andrade (Grand Champion of the “Strike Family Singing Idol” competition), and HUDRD staff.
An awarding ceremony recognized Gerard Humprey L. Francisco, a Board Exam Passer (Psychometrician) from Barangay Bayanan, City of Bacoor, who graduated from Manila Tytana Colleges. Risalyn Soria Antonio and Charlene E. Amoroso, both graduates of Cavite State University – Bacoor Campus with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in Human Resource Management, were awarded Latin Honors – Cum Laude. The Rotary Club of Hiyas of Bacoor awarded Outstanding Enforcers of BTMD to Mr. Alvin Romualdo, Mr. Carlo Borromeo, and Mr. Lito Lerbo. The Local Civil Registry Office, led by Ms. Theresa Cameros, received third place in the Super Extra-Large Category for their outstanding contribution to the Birth Registration Assistance Project during the Regional Convention of the Philippine Statistics Authority.
Presentations included a video showcasing the accomplishments of HUDRD, a message from the guest speaker, Hon. Jean Paul Ilao, and a special message from Mayor Strike B. Revilla, represented by Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista Mendiola.
The flag raising ceremony concluded with a sense of pride and accomplishment, showcasing the collaborative spirit and commitment of the city government and its various partners towards the betterment of Bacoor City.
