Barangay Molino 1 of Bacoor City has shown remarkable dedication to nutrition, scoring 90.09% in the recent assessment by the Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET). The assessment, held on August 21 and 22, 2024, is part of the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) program, aiming to identify the Regional Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Council (ROBNC).
The first day of assessment, organized by the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD), featured a feedback session for the City Nutrition Council (CNC). Key speakers included Mr. Reginaldo Revilla from the DILG, Ms. Juliene Louise Cuartero, Nutrition Officer 2 from the National Nutrition Council (NNC), and Ms. Marilou Mosquera from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).
On the second day, the RNET team, led by the CSWD, conducted a comprehensive review of the nutrition programs in Barangay Molino 1. The team included experts from the NNC, Department of Agriculture (DA), Provincial Department of Health (PDOH), and other related agencies. The assessment took place at various locations in the barangay, including the City Health Center, Molino 1, and Bacoor National High School.
The RNET team was impressed by the dedication of Barangay Molino 1 to nutrition, showcasing their excellent programs and dedicated staff, such as Ms. Melinda Caramonte, midwife, and Ms. Laarni M. Penus, Nurse 2. The high score of 90.09% puts them in a strong position to compete for the prestigious ROBNC award.
The MELLPI program aims to strengthen local nutrition initiatives, promoting solid and effective nutrition programs nationwide. Bacoor City’s dedication to this program demonstrates their commitment to the well-being of their constituents.
