In a united effort to secure a greener tomorrow, Bacoor City came together to celebrate Arbor Day 2024 with a massive tree-planting initiative. Organized by the City Environment Service Department, headed by Mr. Rolando Vocalan, and attended by esteemed guests including Councilors Levy Tela and Semplicio Dominguez, as well as PNP Chief Pltcol John Paulo Carracedo, the event marked a significant step towards environmental sustainability.
Participants from various sectors, such as BFP Bacoor, PNP Bacoor, BJMP units, the Philippine Coast Guard, and local businesses such as Frabelle and Emilu’s Mart, joined hands in planting 498 Nedra trees along the bustling Bacoor-Imus Diversion Road. This initiative, guided by city ordinance CO 027-2015, aims to enhance urban greenery and promote ecological balance within Bacoor.
The planting commenced promptly at 6:00 AM amidst a spirit of camaraderie and shared environmental stewardship. Volunteers from the Community Extension Service Office of St. Dominic College of Asia and corporate entities like BP-Waterworks Inc. and One Oikos Engineering enthusiastically participated, underscoring their commitment to sustainable development.
Arbor Day 2024 underscored the importance of community collaboration and highlighted Bacoor’s dedication to preserving its natural heritage for generations to come. As the sun rose over the newly planted Nedra trees, it symbolized a brighter, greener future for Bacoor, where environmental consciousness and proactive action go hand in hand.
