The City Government of Bacoor, under the dynamic leadership of Hon. Mayor Strike B. Revilla, has been honored with the prestigious Philippine Association of Local Government Accountants (PHALGA) Excellence Award. This esteemed recognition was bestowed upon the city for achieving an unmodified COA Audit Opinion on the 2022 Financial Statements, signifying a pinnacle of excellence in the realm of government accounting.
The award, presented during the 19th Annual National Conference by PHALGA, held at the CAP – John Hay Cultural Trade and Center in Baguio City from May 14-17, 2024, signifies the dedication and commitment of the Bacoor City Government to uphold the highest standards of financial transparency and accountability.
Atty. Marvie Kate Encarnado, the Officer-in-Charge City Accountant, graciously accepted the award on behalf of the City Government of Bacoor. The achievement was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Accounting Office, led then by Mr. Abbey Gawaran, whose unwavering dedication and expertise have been instrumental in ensuring the city’s financial integrity.
It is worth noting that among the municipalities and cities in the entire province of Cavite, only four have been honored with this prestigious Excellence Award, with Bacoor standing out as a beacon of exemplary government accounting practices.
While Atty. Marvie Kate Encarnado received the award in Mr. Abbey Gawaran’s absence, it is a testament to the cohesive teamwork and leadership under Mayor Strike B. Revilla that Bacoor continues to set a benchmark for excellence in government accounting practices.
The City Government of Bacoor’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and financial stewardship serves as a shining example for local governments across the nation, embodying the spirit of excellence in public service.
