Bacoor City, October 12, 2023- The City Government of Bacoor, under the visionary leadership of Mayor Strike B. Revilla, is taking proactive steps to promote healthy and thriving families by launching the Pre-Marriage Orientation and Counseling (PMOC) program. This initiative, a collaborative effort of the City Population Office, City Health Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office, and Bacoor City Transformation Office, aims to equip soon-to-be couples with the necessary knowledge and skills to establish a solid foundation for their future families.
A total of 31 would-be couples recently attended the pre-marriage orientation, facilitated by the dedicated team from the participating offices. This program serves as a prerequisite for obtaining a Marriage License, underscoring the city government’s commitment, led by Mayor Strike B. Revilla, to ensure that couples are well-prepared for the responsibilities and challenges of married life.
During the orientation, comprehensive discussions focused on responsible parenting, family planning, proper child care, and nurturing a strong and harmonious relationship between spouses. The objective is to provide adequate information and guidance to the couples, promoting a healthy and successful start to their married life and securing the well-being of both the couples and their future children.
Following the completion of the Pre-Marriage Orientation and Counseling program, the couples were issued Certificates of Completion. These certificates serve as a requirement for the couples to proceed to the Civil Registrar Office to apply for their Marriage License. Additionally, for couples aged 18-25, an additional afternoon session is scheduled to provide tailored counseling based on their age group.
Applying for the Pre-Marriage Orientation program is a straightforward process. Couples are required to visit the Civil Registrar Office to file their marriage application. Subsequently, they will be directed to the City Population Office to complete the necessary forms and registration. The program incurs a minimal fee of 255 pesos, in accordance with the city’s revenue code.
