The City of Bacoor kicked off Fire Prevention Month 2026 with a meaningful Flag Raising Ceremony held at the S.T.R.I.K.E. Gymnasium on March 9, led by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Bacoor under the leadership of Fire Chief Inspector Beverly May Grimaldo-De Leon. The event highlighted this year’s theme: “Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Hindi Ka Nag-iisa,” reminding everyone that fire safety is a shared responsibility.
The program featured ceremonial traditions including the presentation of colors by BFP Bacoor personnel, the national anthem performed by the Bacoor Unity Band, and the recitation of key pledges that reflect service, patriotism, and commitment to the community. Special performances from Himig Nicolasian of SHS San Nicolas 3 added inspiration to the ceremony.
City Councilor Hon. Manolo Galvez, Chairman of the Peace & Order & Public Safety Committee, delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of fire safety awareness and preparedness among Bacoor residents. The ceremony also recognized outstanding Bacooreno achievers, including Latin Honor awardees, board passers, and exemplary community members.
One of the highlights of the event was the turnover of motorcycles from the Bacoor LGU to BFP Bacoor, strengthening the city’s capability to respond quickly to fire-related emergencies and further enhancing community safety.
Important partnerships were also formalized during the program, including the Deed of Usufruct Agreement between DSWD Region IV-A Calabarzon and the City Government of Bacoor for the establishment of the Pag-Asa Regional Processing Center, as well as a Memorandum of Agreement with A.I.M.S Operations Management Services.
Regional Director FCSUPT Roy Roderick P. Aguto, DSC of BFP Region 4A Calabarzon, represented by the Provincial Fire Marshal of BFP-Cavite, delivered the guest message highlighting the importance of fire prevention, preparedness, and community cooperation.
In his special message, Mayor Strike B. Revilla reaffirmed the city government’s strong commitment to public safety. He also shared his Weekly Accomplishment Report, outlining ongoing projects and initiatives aimed at improving the welfare and safety of Bacoor residents.
As Bacoor observes Fire Prevention Month, the event serves as a powerful reminder that vigilance, preparedness, and community cooperation are key to building a safer and more resilient Bacoor for everyone. 🚒🔥
