Bacoor-Kawit River, Bacoor City – September 4, 2025 – Mayor Strike B. Revilla, accompanied by Engr. Jicky Jutba, head of the City Engineering Office, conducted an inspection of the Bacoor-Kawit River yesterday to assess its current condition. The inspection, is part of Mayor Strike’s ongoing efforts to monitor waterways throughout Bacoor.
Mayor Strike expressed satisfaction with the overall condition of the river, noting signs of regular cleaning and maintenance. He observed that the river is significantly wider than the Zapote River, suggesting that if the Zapote River had a similar width, it could potentially handle a larger volume of water and mitigate severe flooding.
During the inspection, Mayor Strike also noticed several houses built along the riprap walls, with sections seemingly used as pathways, possibly by local fishermen due to the presence of boats. Mayor Strike will task Mr. Allan Chua, head of City Agriculture, to investigate these structures.
