The Blue Jacket Ceremony marked the official send-off of Team Philippines as the country’s delegates prepare to compete in the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) 2026, one of the world’s most prestigious talent competitions. The ceremony celebrated the dedication and excellence of the Filipino artists who will proudly carry the Philippine flag on the international stage.
Among the distinguished members of Team Philippines is Team Bacoor, whose participation is a source of great pride for all BacooreƱos. Representing the city during the ceremony are vocalists Jhennie Fe Ochavillo and Jean Antoinette Posadas, dancers Christian Gano and Thea Jenelie Marcelo, models Denise Carol Tolentino and Shui Tsuda, and pianist Mitchelle Zianne Briones. As they donned the iconic Blue Jacket, they symbolized not only their commitment to excellence but also the creativity, discipline, and artistry that define the BacooreƱo spirit.
Meanwhile, violinist Merjohn Lagaya was unable to attend the ceremony due to a health emergency. We are grateful to share that, based on his physician’s advice, he remains fit to compete in WCOPA 2026. The City Government of Bacoor joins the community in praying for his continued recovery and wishes him every success as he prepares to join his fellow delegates in representing Bacoor and the Philippines.
