June 8, 2026 — The City Government of Bacoor, under the leadership of Mayor Strike B. Revilla, conducted a research turnover event with historian and researcher Mr. Jose Ricardo Molina at the Strike Conference Room. The initiative was facilitated through the Bacoor City Culture, History, Arts and Tourism Office headed by Mr. Edwin Guinto.
Present during the event were Mayor Strike B. Revilla, Mr. Jose Ricardo Molina, City Administrator Atty. Aimee Torrefrangca-Neri, SK Federation President Palm Angel Buncio, and Mr. Jonap Cuenca.
The turnover marks the formal transfer of custody and ownership of significant historical records pertaining to Bacoor, including maps, land titles, and boundary documents dating from 1671 through the 19th century. These valuable materials were safeguarded by Fundación Santiago, a Philippine heritage institution, for nearly 14 months before being turned over to the city.
The documents are expected to play an important role in strengthening Bacoor’s historical archives, helping clarify land jurisdictions, addressing boundary-related concerns, and preserving the city’s rich cultural and historical heritage for future generations.
The event also highlighted the city’s continuing commitment to historical research and preservation. As part of these efforts, Mayor Strike B. Revilla is set to travel to Spain for the official turnover of the historic Bacoor map, a significant milestone in the city’s ongoing campaign to recover and preserve documents that contribute to a deeper understanding of its past.
Through initiatives such as this, the City Government of Bacoor continues to reinforce its dedication to safeguarding the city’s history while ensuring that valuable historical resources remain accessible for research, education, and heritage conservation.
