Revilla Hall | February 18, 2026 – The City Government of Bacoor, through the Bacoor City Culture, History, Arts and Tourism Office headed by Mr. Edwin Guinto, solemnly observed Ash Wednesday with a Holy Mass and the turnover of the Bust statue of Gregorio Aglipay, founder of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente.
Mayor Strike B. Revilla, BM Alde Pagulayan, Father Ramoncito Tadepa, and Father Ruben Averilla led the ceremony together with the Bacoor Cathedral Choir, lay readers, lay ministers, and sakristans. City employees, headed by their respective Unit and Department Heads, also took part in the Ash Wednesday Mass, marking the beginning of the Lenten season.
The turnover of the bust statue honors Bishop Aglipay’s significant role in Philippine religious history and highlights Bacoor’s dedication to preserving and celebrating its rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
As the Lenten season begins, the City Government of Bacoor joins the faithful in reflection, renewal, and strengthened commitment to service. 🙏✨
