The City Government of Bacoor, through the Office of the City Agricultural Services led by Mr. Allan Chua, in partnership with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), successfully held the blessing and inauguration of the Fishermen’s Dormitory, distribution of fishing paraphernalia, and groundbreaking ceremony for a catfish grow-out facility in Barangay Sinbanali on May 27, 2026. 🌊💙
Present during the event were Mayor Strike B. Revilla, Cong. Lani Mercado Revilla, BFAR Regional Director Sammy A. Malvas, representatives from the Philippine Reclamation Authority, Frabelle Group of Companies, local officials, barangay leaders, and members of various fisherfolk organizations.
Mayor Strike highlighted that the newly inaugurated dormitory will provide free accommodation for fishermen, with the City Government covering electricity and water expenses to help ease the burden on fisherfolk families.
The event also marked the beginning of preparations for the upcoming “Tawid Gutom Program,” which aims to strengthen food security and provide additional livelihood opportunities through the establishment of the catfish grow-out facility.
This initiative reflects Bacoor’s continued commitment to uplifting the lives of fisherfolk communities and supporting sustainable livelihood programs for every Bacooreño. 🙌
