June 30, 2026 – The City Government of Bacoor, under the leadership of Mayor Strike B. Revilla, through the City Engineering Office headed by Engr. Jicky Jutba, officially held the blessing and inauguration of the new Rainwater Collection System at Bacoor Elementary School on June 30, 2026.
Joining the ceremony were Vice Mayor Rowena B. Mendiola, Councilor Noly Galvez, Memviluz L. Baurile, City Local Government Operations Officer of DILG Bacoor, Kapitana Caridad Sanchez and the Barangay Council of Sinbanali, Bishop Eric Santos, Dr. Cesar Mojica, Chief of the Schools Governance and Operations Division, Ms. Emmalyn Ruiz, School Principal, and Mr. Marcia Juangco, Officer-in-Charge Provincial Director of DILG. Students and teachers of Bacoor Elementary School also took part in the meaningful event.
As part of Bacoor City’s commitment to sustainability and climate resilience, the newly installed system will collect and store rainwater for the school’s non-potable needs such as:
💧 Cleaning and maintenance activities
🚻 Toilet flushing
🌱 Watering of plants and gardens
The initiative is expected to significantly reduce water consumption and utility expenses while promoting responsible and sustainable resource management within the school community.
The project reflects Bacoor’s proactive approach to environmental stewardship by creating a greener, more self-sufficient, and water-secure learning environment for students, teachers, and school personnel.
The blessing of the facility was officiated by Bishop Eric Santos, while Mayor Strike B. Revilla emphasized that the project forms part of the city’s broader efforts to build climate-resilient communities and encourage sustainable practices among the youth.
