July 6, 2026 – The City Government of Bacoor, through the Bacoor Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (BDRRMO) headed by Mr. Richard Quion, convened an Emergency Meeting on Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment and Guidance to strengthen the city’s preparedness for possible weather disturbances.
Present during the meeting were Mayor Strike B. Revilla, Vice Mayor Rowena B. Mendiola, Councilor Noly Galvez, BM Rafael Paterno III, President of the Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB), LnB Vice President Randy Francisco, department and unit heads, and representatives from the Bacoor Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Department of Education (DepEd), and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The meeting focused on strengthening the city’s disaster preparedness through discussions on the following key areas:
🌧️ Latest PAGASA weather bulletin and forecast updates
🌀 Typhoon track, wind speed, and rainfall projections to anticipate possible impacts
🗺️ Hazard mapping identifying flood-prone and coastal risk areas across Bacoor
🏘️ Impact assessment covering potential effects on communities, livelihoods, and critical infrastructure
🏫 Evacuation site readiness, including food and medicine stockpiles, rescue equipment, and transportation resources
🚨 Response scenarios, outlining operational protocols from Stage 1 (Monitoring) to Stage 2 (Preparation) and Stage 3 (Evacuation and Emergency Response)
🔧 Post-typhoon recovery planning to ensure the immediate restoration of essential services and assistance to affected residents
During the meeting, Mayor Strike B. Revilla underscored the importance of proactive planning, emphasizing that preparedness remains the most effective way to minimize damage and protect the lives and welfare of Bacooreños.
Meanwhile, Mr. Richard Quion assured that all concerned agencies continue to coordinate closely to ensure the efficient and seamless implementation of disaster response measures whenever necessary.
