Baguio City, August 13, 2025 — A delegation from the City Government of Bacoor, led by Mayor Strike B. Revilla and Department and Unit Heads headed by Atty. Aimee Torrefrangca-Neri, conducted an inspection tour of the Baguio Command Center located inside the Baguio Convention Center. The visit, organized by the City Government of Baguio, aimed to showcase the city’s Smart City initiative and its integrated emergency services.
The Bacoor delegation was introduced to Baguio City’s digital transformation efforts, which utilize technology and data analytics to enhance governance and public service delivery. A focal point of the tour was the Emergency 911 system, which consolidates the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMC), police, fire, emergency medical services (EMS), and rescue operations within a centralized command center to ensure swift and coordinated emergency response.
The Baguio Command Center is equipped with real-time city monitoring, AI-powered surveillance for anomaly detection, a flood early warning system, and centralized coordination of emergency services. These features significantly boost the city’s capacity to respond promptly to emergencies, enhancing public safety and disaster preparedness.
Mayor Strike and the Bacoor LGU officials acknowledged that while the Bacoor Command Center is more advanced, there are still valuable lessons from Baguio’s innovative approaches that should be shared and considered. They expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn and intend to adapt relevant technologies and systems to further enhance Bacoor’s emergency response and public service capabilities.
