Legislative and Disaster Resilience Building, Bacoor Government Center – June 10, 2026 — The City Government of Bacoor, through the Local Economic Development and Investments Promotions Office (LEDIPO), in coordination with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Cavite, successfully conducted a Halal Awareness and Preparation Seminar on June 10, 2026, at the 3rd Floor of the Legislative and Disaster Resilience Building.
The seminar formed part of the city government’s ongoing efforts to support local enterprises, promote inclusive economic development, and enhance the competitiveness of businesses in Bacoor.
Leading the activity were Mayor Strike B. Revilla and Vice Mayor Rowena B. Mendiola, together with Ms. Khei Javier Sanchez, Head of LEDIPO, Mr. Lawrence San Jose, Head of the Business Permits and Licensing Department (BPLD), and Mr. Richard Quion, Head of the Bacoor Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (BDRRMO).
Serving as resource speakers were Ms. Anna Daigan, Supervising Science Research Specialist from DOST Cavite, and Mr. Khadafy Etado, Overall President of the Muslim Consultative Assembly. The seminar was attended by representatives from various business associations in Bacoor City, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) owners, and senior citizen representatives.
During the discussions, participants gained valuable insights into Halal principles, certification processes, regulatory requirements, and the potential economic opportunities associated with Halal compliance. The speakers emphasized how obtaining Halal certification can help businesses expand their market reach, improve consumer confidence, and access growing local and international Halal markets.
The seminar also highlighted the importance of understanding the needs of diverse consumer groups and ensuring that products and services meet recognized quality and ethical standards. Participants were encouraged to explore Halal certification as a strategic tool for business growth and market expansion.
Through initiatives such as the Halal Awareness and Preparation Seminar, the City Government of Bacoor continues to empower local entrepreneurs with knowledge and resources that can help strengthen their businesses and improve their competitiveness in an evolving marketplace.
